Location / Vicinity

Paderne may have begun life with the arrival of settlers who had been living in the nearby castle, which is worth visiting.

On the way up to the castle you will pass the "Fonte" where on certain days of the week you will see the locals doing their washing, you can also collect fresh water from the nearby stream which is fine for you to drink!

Paderne offers a mini market, post office, health centre, little cafes and a few typical portuguses restaurants and a beautiful 16th century church.
On the first Saturday of every month Paderne holds a gypsy market which is worth visiting for your bargains!

The shopping centre “Algarve Shopping” is situated in Guia which is approx. 15 minutes away, as well as the famous theme park Zoomarine (open all year around and not to be missed for families).
There is a huge choice of water parks across the Algarve, such as the Aquashow situated in Quarteira, Aqualand, in Alcantarilha and Slide & Splash in Lagoa. They are usually open during the months of June to September.
